November is here! It is both exciting and unbelievable that we have been in classes for over two months, with the end of Term 1 in sight. It feels that every week we talk about how full it was with activities and excitement–but the truth is, it seems EVERY week at BSS is full of fun and excitement! This past week was no exception, with Spirit Week, Halloween and Parent-Teacher Interviews to name just a few events our students, staff and even parents were participating in!
Halloween has always been celebrated in style at Brookswood, with a traditional “parade” down the main stairs. Some of our staff recall their years as students at BSS and participating in the parade even then! We had a variety of costumes around the school this Halloween–some creative, some scary–and some silly! From science Minions to cartoon video game characters, even game show contestants and Gilligan and Skipper too –thank you to staff and students for making Halloween 2017 a fun and safe event!

Students this week enjoyed a number of fun activities in the classes. Some of our French students enjoyed a trip to Cora Restaurant for some oral speaking practice, our PE students enjoyed new technology in the weight room and our Art students created some beautiful art installations for the Remembrance Day assembly/theatre. Mr. Ocampo’s classes designed and built working marble rollercoasters this week–complete with loops, turns and velocity calculations!
